Andrea Hutchens Spurrell
Andrea has over 20 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1999 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy. Since graduation she has worked in private practice providing a variety of vocational rehabilitation services to clients. She has a special interest in Ergonomic Consulting including Office Ergonomics.
She joined the team of professionals at Integrated Occupational Health Services (IOHS) in January of 2004. At IOHS, Andrea’s responsibilities have included functional assessments, pre-employment screenings, return to work services, job site analyses, injury prevention and education programs, ergonomic consulting, home demands analyses, PGAP programming and case management. She has also provided outpatient services in the area of splinting and orthotics. Her continuing education includes a variety of vocational rehabilitation workshops in the areas of ergonomics (including the Matheson Office Ergonomics Certification Workshop in 2016), functional capacity evaluations, work conditioning and work hardening through Roy Matheson and Associates, low back injury prevention, pain management, home demands analysis and universal design, and foot biomechanics and orthotics fabrication courses.

Current memberships include the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Occupational Therapists (NLAOT), the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB).
