Andrea graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1999 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy. Since graduation, she has worked as an Occupational Therapist providing a variety of vocational rehabilitation services to clients. In January 2004, she joined the team of professionals at Integrated Occupational Health Services (IOHS).
Continuing education includes a variety of vocational rehabilitation workshops in the area of functional capacity evaluations, work conditioning and work hardening through Roy Matheson and Associates. She has also attended numerous workshops on ergonomics, low back injury prevention, pain management, foot biomechanics and orthotics fabrication courses. In August 2004, she attended a training workshop for The Progressive Goal Attainment Program: A New Program for Minimizing Pain-Related Disability. She most recently participated in a workshop titled “Wheelchair/Seating: The Basics & Beyond.”
Current memberships include the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Occupational Therapists (NLAOT), The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB).
At IOHS, Andrea's responsibilities include functional assessments, pre-employment screenings, return to work services, job site analyses, injury prevention and education programs, ergonomic consulting, home demands analysis, PGAP programming and case management. She also provides outpatient services in the area of splinting and orthotics.
